Appointment to Severn Trent Water Ground Investigation Framework

Applebridge Geoenvironmental is proud to announce its successful appointment to the Severn Trent Water & Hafren Dyfrdwy Ground Investigation Framework – a major achievement that marks a significant chapter in our continued growth within the UK construction and utilities sector.

Valued at £36 million over three years, the framework sees Applebridge Geoenvironmental join a group of 12 contractors tasked with delivering essential ground investigation works across a wide range of sites. These include water treatment facilities, sewage treatment works, and pipeline routes that traverse third-party land – all vital to supporting the water companies’ expansive capital programmes.

Our appointment reflects the strength of our technical capabilities and our proven track record in delivering ground investigation services that meet the highest industry standards. Under the ICE Specification for Ground Investigation (Third Edition, May 2022), we will undertake detailed site investigations, data interpretation, and reporting to help establish key design parameters – laying the groundwork for safe, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure development.

Anthony Owen, Managing Director of Applebridge Geoenvironmental, commented:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Applebridge Geoenvironmental to contribute to a framework of this calibre. Securing our place reflects the depth of experience within our team. Being part of this framework strengthens our position in the Ground Investigation sector and enables us to support infrastructure projects that are vital to the communities served by Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy.”

This latest success is further bolstered by the expertise within our team, several of whom bring direct experience of managing this very framework. Their insight played a key role in securing our place and will continue to guide our delivery throughout the contract term.

Rebecca Vale, Category Manager in Severn Trent’s commercial team, said:

“We are pleased to welcome Applebridge Geoenvironmental to our ground investigations framework. We’ve got a massive £12bn of investment planned for the next five years and support from specialist companies like Applebridge in the early stages of any project helps to ensure a smooth build programme. We are looking forward to working with them across AMP8.”

As a member of the Applebridge Family, our ethos remains rooted in innovation, quality, and collaboration. This framework aligns with our strategic goals and provides a platform to make a meaningful impact in delivering infrastructure that serves millions across the Midlands and Wales.

We look forward to working closely with Severn Trent, Hafren Dyfrdwy, and our fellow framework partners as we help shape the future of the UK’s water infrastructure network.
